Swatch n' See: American Apparel Sheer Polish

Top Left: Pacific Beach, Redondo Beach, Moonlight Beach
Bottom Left: Zuma Beach, Manhattan Beach, Summerland Beach
I knew as soon as I saw these they were coming home to mama! If you're a regular reader you know I'm a sucker for blue. So anytime a polish purchase happens rest assured most times I'm getting either something with blue in it or just plain ole blue. This time was no different. The sheer polish line has a total of 6 limited edition shades.

I got 4 of the 6. It took me a while to decide which one's I really wanted. I got Zuma, Redondo, Pacific and Summerland (why leave the other two right? LOL).

First up is Summerland Beach.

It is a gorgeous peach/coral color. This is 2 coats with some visible nail line. I love this color!

It applied quite easily and dried pretty fast. I used no top coat in any of the photos.

Next is Zuma Beach.

Zuma is a pretty lime green. This is 2 coats. As you can see there is visible nail line.

These polishes are highly pigmented! But Zuma was the only one that was the most sheer.

Next is Redondo Beach.

*Drool* BLUE! This is such a nice color! It's like the perfect blue for a sheer polish. This is 2 coats.

OMG...I have no other words for this...I just love it!

Last is Pacific Beach.

This is a grassy green color. It's much more blue leaning than Zuma.

This is also 2 coats. This one may be my least favorite out. It would definitely make a great layering polish.

When I stopped by American Apparel, they didn't have them in the store. You can order these online for $6 ea.

    1. American Apparel is a fairly popular clothing brand. They have different polishes but this is my first set of polishes from them. These are awesome!

    1. Thanks! I absolutely love these! It's a great departure from the basic cremes and shimmers of the summer! I could really go for an actually PB&J right now! LOL

  5. Interesting! I haven't seen these swatched before. I'm guessing from your last sentence that you ordered online--any issues with how they were packed? I've heard bad stories about AA in that regard.

    1. They just released these last week. I did order them online and they were packed very, very well. I'm not sure if they plan on selling these at retail locations- because I did check there first before ordering.

  6. have you tried layering like they do in the advertisements? i want to know if the ombre effect is easy to do or not!

    1. I haven't tried that yet but plan to...I would suspect that it's really no different than doing the same effect with normal polish. For a "sheer" polish it's very pigmented. Maybe I'll post at the end of this week!

    1. Yes they would! But not too sure about the ombre/gradient effect they show in their PR material =/
